Precision Moving Company came into existence as a partnership between 2 local individuals. Mike Berberick worked in the moving industry for 10 years in the Boston area. He started as a mover and was quickly promoted to crew chief. He became one of the top crew chiefs at a well known Somerville-based moving company; and along with running crews, did all the written estimates as well. He enjoyed the hard work and challenges the job provided. However, he had a dream to open his own company.

Jennifer Smith was already a successful small business owner and has a background in accounting. With Mike's extensive experience in the moving industry and Jennifer's business sensibilities, Precision Moving Company was born.

Precision Moving Company was founded on the belief that exceptional moving services can be affordable. In his spare time, Mike enjoys the outdoors, especially hiking and camping. In 2000, he and his sister Mary Beth hiked the entire Appalachian Trail, a rugged footpath that led them from Georgia to Maine. They climbed up 200 mountains as part of the trail and met "many interesting characters," according to Mike. Mike also enjoys bicycling, music and painting.

Jennifer's main loves are gourmet cooking and her dogs Bailey and Oliver. One of her favorite things about running her own business is that Bailey and Oliver can come to work with her. Jennifer's other interests include painting, fishing, boating and anything else involving the beach.

Mike and Jennifer have different roles at Precision. Jennifer runs the office and day to day operations. Mike is in charge of overseeing jobs, truck maintenance and written estimates. Together, they strive to provide the best possible service for the most important person of all, the customer.
